Once again, we are back at Terror Sea Scouts Camp, but this time, we had the chance to stay overnight~

Hidden away in the tents, we had so much fun sleeping through the nights with the crickets and sound of the waves from the nearby beach

We met and made new friends from other schools :)

Founders Day Celebration 21/2/10

It was the long awaited Founders Day Celebration again!
Extract from Wikipedia:
Worldwide in nearly all Scout associations, Founders' Day is celebrated on February 22, the birthday of Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell (born in 1857), the founder of Scouting, and coincidentally also of his wife Olave Baden-Powell (born in 1889).

We went over to meet up with some of the other schools from the Yishun District for a time of tough fun and "CheerUPs"!

When we arrived, there were some fine examples for us to learn from!

Let me tell you a story...

Long time ago in an island afar, there lived a group of people mighty and strong!

Lord Powell and his troops were exploring the island when...

he came upon them and there was a confrontation...

they declared war on each other and decided to settle in the most civilized way... *Scissors, Paper, Stone!"

There were casualty on each side and much sacrifices were made...

The two leaders cried out to their Gods and asked for a way...

Then it dawn upon them:
"War is not the way... Make peace..."

They came together, put down their shield and offered the hand thats closest to the heart...

They exchange a left-hand shake.

Ladies and Gentleman that was how the left-hand shake came about.

Lets do a cheer for a great drama performed!!!

We took a long stroll over to the park and applied the skills we learn on how to operate a compass to participate in the games.

It was tremendous fun! So much so that we jumped over drains and forgot about the cemented paths at times. :D It was great having fellow cub scouts around to lend a helping hand!

One of the toughest game we had:

Doing the Duckwalk!

and we saw the CannonBall Tree

Counting the number of steps...

For some of us, it was a great experience playing the games,
For some of us, it was a trip of taking on greater responsibility, learning to take care of the fellow cub scouts.

It certainly was a tired but fun day.

Campcraft 3/2/10

This week, we took time off from the hustle of the academic studies and hide away in our tents!

Its good when we have seniors coming down to guide us.

"Do you know why we have to roll it inwards?" "So that when there is water collected inside, we rolled it out, it will flow out rather than flow in, into the tent"

Tree Top Hike 7/11/09

The Cub Scouts went out for the Tree Top Hike on a Saturday morning. The weather was great with beautiful skies and a nice breeze.

finally reached the Ranger House!

and so continues the hike, but this time... uphill!

Breather, breather... PheW! before we hit the actual TREE TOP TRAIL...

and so we continued on the ONE WAY journey of no return...

WOOT! We're here!

It is indeed the tree tops... cos we only see the top of the trees...

LOOK! what is that!

Its actually a Eagle's Nest... O_O
This sure is a First Time seeing the Eagle's Nest for some of the teachers.

This is def not for the faint hearted...

arr... its nice to see a little puddle amidst the greens.

Things happened along the way, but we were always there for each other!

Yup, You're right, its the Jelutong Tower.

Level by Level, they climbed...

at the 1st level,

Sings: "Such a feelings coming over me, there is wonder in almost everything I see, not a cloud in the sky got the sun in my eyes, and I won't be surprise if its a dream... I'm on the (sing with me!) TOP OF THE WORLD looking, down on creation and the only explanation I can find...

Field Camp Day 5/9/09

Last saturday we went to the Terror Sea Campsite for our Field Day Badge activity.
We had great fun in the telematch and running around the various stations.
Its a pity that some of our muslim friends couldn't join us.
But overall we had loads of fun!

One of the team even won a trophy!

The games at the various station were so fun! Hopefully we can bring the ideas into school~

Donation Draw n Up! the movie

Following Jobweek's Success...

EPS is glad to announce that through the hardwork of all the Cub Scouts Members,
we have gathered a total of SGD$2070 for The Donation Draw! *one of the highest in the North District*

GOOD JOB Scouts!
Your hard work has paid off!

A total of 47 Cub Scouts (who manage to sell more than 2 booklets) have been invited to watch the movie Up! at Cathay Cineplexes Causeway Point.

We thank the parents for showing their support by coming.
We thank the kind souls for buying the draw tickets from the Cub Scouts as well.
Your kindness will benefit the so many other under-priviledge ones in the society.

This movie follows the steps of our fellow Cub Scout Russell

Who went out in search of an elderly to assist in exchange for his "Assisting the Elderly" Badge.
and as the story goes, he met Mr Carl.

The movie opened with the relationship story between Mr Carl (who is an old man in present time of the movie) and his wife Ellie.

In the efforts to fulfil the "Cross Your Heart" promises he made, he flew with his house to Paradise Fall. Russel was brought along unknowingly, unwittingly.

In their efforts to save an exotic bird which Russel had lovingly name "Kevin", they met "Dug" a dog with a speaking collar.

The adventure unfolds as the villian "Muntz" gets introduced into the story.

It has bits for adults and a little more for the kids. *recommended for Primary 3 and up"

This week, to continue on the Up! activities, we decided to have a Plane Making activity.
We got a vendor to come and all of us had great fun!

This week, we spent some time working on the Up! activities so as to earn the Limited Edition Badge.

All of us had a hard but fun time finding the countless number of "UP" from the crossword puzzle, writing story, journal entries and coloring the character.

It was huge challenge to remember all the 9 foreign items that we could only view for 2minutes,

We had lots of fun trying out free shooting and target shooting.
